But First, Brunch!

Brunch isn't just a meal, it's an attitude. It's a reason to kick back, celebrate life, eat heavy food, laugh about last night's foolery, cure your hangover and drink some more.

Nashville has a plethora of delicious brunch hot spots so you really cannot go wrong. Below we highlight two of our very favorites.

The Southern

Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, featuring a state-of-the-art oyster bar, a wood-fired grill and delicious sustainable seafood, the Southern combines a variety of unique flavors that take patrons on a culinary journey. This may all seem standard for an out-to-dinner-with-the-girls kind of place, but the menu doesn't stop in the evening. Join The Southern for a one-of-a-kind brunch that infuses Cajun flavors with succulent seafood and tastes from around the globe.

1) Crab Cake Hash: This dish features fresh, lump crab over a bed of traditional potato hash. Wild mushrooms and house-made sausage add a smoky, earthy flavor before it's topped off with a corn-poblano sauce. Tip: Pair it with the Whisper Creek Tennessee sipping cream.

2) Shrimp and Grits: Creamy, stone ground grits are topped with Cajun seasoned shrimp to create this Southern staple. Tip: Pair it with a light, sparkling Bellini. It will balance the richness of the grits in texture, and the sweetness will complement the delicious Cajun seasoning.

Saint Anejo

Just because you had Taco Bell at 2 am, doesn't mean you can't revisit the culinary decadence of Mexican fare for bunch! The menu at Saint Anejo shines the spotlight on inspired Mexican cuisine including fresh guacamole, creative and unique tacos and a plethora of other regionally-inspired specialties. The Latin flare that they bring to mixology is an aspect that can't be missed. Smokey flavors and otherwise-ignored spices bring a new element of fun and flavor to the bartender's creations.

1) Breakfast Burrito: The breakfast burrito is a standard choice when blending Mexican food and kicking off a day of activities. However, Saint Anejo offers sourced, fresh ingredients and a gourmet take on this classic. You can choose to complement your egg, cheese and avocado with spicy, smoky chorizo. It's topped off with a habanero crema and, of course, salsa.

Tip: Pair with a Michelada to truly embrace the savory and smoky flavors. Otherwise, break up those traditional flavors with a Blood Orange Mimosa! This bubbly, tart beverage will serve as a simply irresistable treat for your pallette.

2) Horchata French Toast: It's everything you love about French Toast, multiplied by 1000%. Sweet, infused challah is topped with bananas, a sprinkling of cinnamon and whipped cream. Tip: Pair with Red Sangria. Trust us.
